Naturally Sweet Turmeric Smoothie

Naturally Sweet Turmeric Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond or coconut milk
1 frozen banana
½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
2 scoops NOW Organic Plant Protein powder, vanilla
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon maca root powder
½ cup ice cubes (optional)

Blend together in a high powered blender until smooth.

This is a great smoothie in the wintertime to keep your immune system at its highest functioning level! When it is cold out and you feel a little something coming on, time for this kind of smoothie. I may even call it a “Chilled Turmeric Latte” seeing that I only put a bit of ice in it so it doesn’t freeze you out and remains quite liquidy. This smoothie takes on the bold color of turmeric but the sweetness of the banana and pineapple seem to mask the bitter flavor of the turmeric quite well. The vanilla protein powder also does help with the sweetness as well. Finding a way to take turmeric on a daily basis is a great way to keep you healthy and works to keep the inflammation down so we can better navigate our own health and wellness. cheers! MMM
